In Profile

A Lavender Orpington rooster with soft, even lavender-grey plumage and a red single comb, in a charcoal wool waistcoat over a high white starched collar and a black silk stock, cut to fit a bird, standing in strict side profile facing left on a straw bale inside an old stone barn, scaled rooster legs and talons on the straw, a pale golden barn owl perched on a dark oak beam above him looking towards the camera, warm low autumn sunlight falling through the open barn door
