Edmund arrives already knowing where the light will fall. He does not require direction so much as occasion: a hillside, a certain quality of morning, a route drawn in pencil on a map he has carried for longer than most photographers have been working.

He is available principally for location work. He does not object to the studio, but one senses that the plain backdrop is a courtesy he extends to the photographer rather than a preference he indulges. He works in all weathers. He has opinions about boots.
